Social and Solidarity Economy

Today, the Social Solidarity Economy (SSE) is a fundamental pillar of the social state, as envisioned by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, a model that places people at the heart of development, and aims to reduce inequalities, promote inclusion and guarantee dignity for all.

Morocco, fully committed to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), recognizes SSE as a strategic partner in this endeavor. The State Secretariat in charge of Handicrafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, through its initiatives, programs, and reforms, actively promotes a structured and lasting contribution of the SSE sector to the SDGs by encouraging alternative economic models with strong impact.

By supporting social entrepreneurship, backing high-impact local initiatives, and assisting grassroots actors, SSE contributes to the localization of the SDGs and to the strengthening of community resilience. Through the National Conference on Social and Solidarity Economy, this convergence of public policies, international commitments, and local dynamics becomes tangible. It reflects the Kingdom’s will to root its development model in a logic of equity, sustainability, and citizen participation, in line with the principles of the 2030 Agenda.
